Is a Break in Return Journey Allowed?

Options
I need to make a very complicated trip this weekend and was wondering if a break in Journey would be allowed as it would save me a lot of money.

The ticket I want to get is an open return from Sittingbourne to Romford and pay extra for Underground tickets.

Journey 1 - Sittingbourne to Stratford in the morning then the underground to North Greenwich. Returning from North Greenwich in the evening to Stratford then going on to Romford.

Journey 2 - Using my open return to get from Romford to Liverpool Street (can I use it to get to Liverpool Street?) in the morning. Then the underground to Wembley Park. Then in the evening the underground from Wembley Park to St Pancras and then St Pancras to Sittingbourne.

I know this is very complicated but I'm not sure what would be the cheapest way to get tickets.
