I have recently received a parking charge notice for parking outside tram hours at Navigation Road Metrolink station. The carpark is free for tram users and have used umpteen times before without any problems. However, last week I parked my car before travelling into Manchester, where I had a few drinks, and when I returned to my car felt that I wasn't fit to drive so left it there unbeknown to me that you couldn't leave overnight. There are no signs at the entrance that state no overnight parking, however there are smaller signs around the carpark that state no parking outside tram hours, unfortunately I failed to read these but as it was a free carpark figured that I would be fine!
When I went back to retrieve my car Sunday morning, I found a half empty car park and a parking ticket. Am going to appeal using the template on here however it says I don't need to give the drivers details just keepers. My ticket states on the back that I must give driver details, what should I do?
I really can't afford or want to pay these unscrupulous people, there are lots of articles written about it in our local press where others are outraged!!

You do not need to give the driver details. What lying scumbag company is this, and have you received a postal notice yet?Je suis Charlie.0

Why are you using the template so soon - slow down unless it's a company/lease hire car? Why aren't you following the tried & tested appeal route explained in the Newbies thread and WHY are you even reading the PCN seeing as 'the driver' won't be the person appealing? We don't usually advise sending the template until the keeper gets the NTK in the post.
Hope the template you are talking about its the one from that sticky thread and not the 'MSE Article' one...
Is it 'Care Parking' like this Metrolink case just won at POPLA like we always do on here and on pepipoo against this pathetic bunch of chancers:

Hi thanks for your replies, I guess I'm panicking a bit but don't want a £100 fine!
Have read the newbie form, it was the template that was listed in the first couple of threads, and was quite wordy! I might use the same letter as the one on pepipoo.
Should I wait for the follow up? I just think
It's outrageous that they can fine me so much for parking in a fee car park!
And yes it is Care Parking, am I right in presuming the have a bad reputation?0 -
Gawd you are all over the place, in a pointless panic about a scam! You are still thinking it's a fine, still thinking you will be paying.
Use our most recent template appeal - not sure what you mean by the 'one on pepipoo' because the person in the linked thread mucked it up at first, by appealing as driver far too soon in their own words (which is what you are also trying to do, despite the clear advice to wait and NOT write as driver). That appeal in post #5 of that pepipoo thread was TERRIBLE. And it wasn't that awful appeal that won at POPLA you know - although they have missed out a chunk of what happened in Sept, in fact they won at POPLA (2nd stage) after putting in a proper appeal second time around!
All PPCs have a terrible reputation. Please get a grip and follow our advice.
You appeal as keeper when you get the first letter - but looking now at your pepipoo thread:

...are you saying this was by letter? Was it from ANPR cameras and was it received before day 15?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Ok I'll wait!!! It's the first parking ticket I have ever received and given my 40 + years I'm not quite sure what to so but I'll be dammed if I'm paying for something that is let's face it free!!0

Hang on - on pepipoo you have said it WAS a letter?! I have edited my post because of what you have posted on pepipoo. Don't wait for a letter if you have got the letter!
BTW you still haven't received a parking ticket; private ones are not real parking tickets at all = scam.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

No it was a parking ticket sorry PCN haven't received anything in the post yet, day 14 is Sunday...
Thanks for your advice, very much appreciated0 -
OK so wait a month or two for the first letter then you send the appeal in the Newbies thread to wherever the first letter says the keeper can appeal to. Don't change it, don't add anything, do not say who was driving.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi, I have received a first letter from care parking after ignoring the issued ticket, please can you advise me what to reply. I have seen your rely above about sending the appeal in the newbies thread but don't know how to access this, I'm a complete novice, any help would be greatly appreciated.0

go back onto this parking ticket forum and look on the left for a new thread button
click it and start your own new thread (instead of hijacking this one)
once that is done, again go back to the same forum and look above your own thread at the sticky threads near the top of the forum
find the NEWBIES sticky thread by coupon-mad, usually about the second or third one down, then read it, all you need to know is in there
try to get up to speed on using forums asap, it can and will save you money0
