Anyone dealt with fredrickson DCA

An account recently got passed apparently to Phonenix Recoveries but all the letters come from Fredrickson International Limited asking to pay Fredpay.

Along the way one payment has got lost?! of £21.20 and the balance is only £275.60 so thats a fair proportion.

I have asked them to find the payment - no comments received, I have asked for standing order details they tell me to fill in the direct debit instruction - no way!

I went on the Fredpay site to do a payment and they require phone numbers etc before a payment will be sent I put a local debt collecting company number in - norty I know! then it reckoned payment had not gone and I don't trust them to do it again - I used cahoot webcard and not my actual card so this could be it.

Has anyone actually been able to get details out of them how to send cheques or standing orders the whole scheme seems so scammy to get more information out of you.

many thanks

Hiya. I have dealings with Fredrickson international and the whole process was very straight forward. I offered them an amount, they set the DD up over the phone with no worries. when they asked for my number i gave them a completely made up mobile number! seemed to satisfy them. They were quite easy to deal with and have never had a problem with missing payments. This must be really frustrating for you, maybe best to speak to the chief not an indian. Good luck!!

Nice one RD - I can just imagine Fredrickson ringing up your local DCA at all hours. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Shouldn't have made any difference to the payment, though.

Thats what I thought and yet it clearly reckons payment has not gone through. Think I will write - again - tell them my bank account does not do direct debits and enclose a cheque.

That should encourage them to part with the details for standing order - cheques seem to be the lepers form of payment lately - even Sainsbury are starting to refuse them!

I know, RD - be careful that these 'vultures' do not try and impose any additional charges for payment by cheque - they're making more than enough out of you as it is.

Grr something else to worry about lol! But thanks will keep an eye on the account.

It just pees me off that after 6 years they sold the account on just after I had just upped payments to hammer it down quickly.

Hopefully they will give stanading order payment details which is what I prefer. I don't feel comfortable with a DCA using direct debit where they control what comes to them. Maybe I am too suspicious!

I would not feel comfortable about a DCA being able to ask my bank for money, either. The majority of experiences that posters, on this forum, have had with DCAs (including Fredrickson) would confirm your suspicions.

use postal orders from the post office. By law no extra charges can be used for taking these.

    Hi,
I have dealings with fredrickson, and send them a cheque once a month. They don't charge me anything for doing this. I am suspicious about using fredpay too. Don't really want to give them my debit card details!
However, i use fredpay just to check my account balance and make sure they've received the cheque. When they asked for my number, I put in a false one too. Must really p*** them off!!!
