This is what is called arbitrage: making a profit from the differences in prices between different markets.

It is a game best played by professionals handling large sums of money, so that transaction costs become insignificant. For someone with access only to a few thousand pounds, and willing to bear some degree of risk, an investment in the Semtex (Indian stock market, which tends to go up like a high explosive) might be a better plan.
