Shopping for a family of 3 (well, 2 and a half)

Evening all, looking for a little advice. We're currently spending £250 a month on groceries. One big shop which includes monthly purchases such as toiletries etc, and then weekly top-ups of milk, bread, veg etc. We spend about £180 on the big shop from Morrisons and then about £25 a week on the essentials from whichever supermarket we pass by on the way home from work.
There's only myself, my wife and our eighteen month old daughter at home. We eat our main meals at work/nursery three days a week, so four main meals a week at home. The other meals are just sandwiches etc.
I've seen a lot of people on here suggesting that £150 is enough to feed a family of 3 for a month. Any suggestions on how to get closer to that figure?

I think as said the main issue for us when we overspent on food was regular takeaways, shop bought lunches when at work, and just buying food and not necessarily planning enough meals for the week. Within days we had run out of something, so we topped up at various shops. Now I shop at Aldi which has opened very near us and my budget for family of four - two adults and two school age children is £100. This includes the usual household goods too. Some weeks I do it cheaper like last week for £65, had loads of stock left in the freezer.
I feel as a family we are eating much better, and even getting a few things every week for xmas.
Good Luck0
