Hi there
Hope someone can help me
I have been in a DMP with Payplan for nearly 4 years now and all is going well...although they are a little slow at getting back to me they are ok
I recently decided to try to claim back PPI for 8 cards, and decided to go through Gladston Brookes. I made the phone call and as im in a DMP they passed me onto their sister company Money Advice unit
They telephoned me last night and are willing to claim back my PPI but need me to swap to their DMP in order to do this
Anyone heard or can help me on this please
Thanks

I would not be in a hurry to swap to a fee paying DMP, can Pay-Plan not help you with the PPI claim if you feel unable to do it yourself? You only need to send a few letters.
I think Pay-Plan have some kind of associated company called Stake my Claim who do PPI, I think the fee is 12.5%.ISA £1675MiniMoohound savings £3685.86 :T Plus £3800 CTF

This is nothing more than a sales pitch to try and get your DMP business - there is no good reason why they can't handle your PPI claim without taking over the DMP as well (other than enriching themselves, obviously).
Incidentally, the Financial Ombudsman Service have stated (several times) that they see no discernable difference between the success rate of people claiming PPI back themselves and people who use a third-party company - so you're just as likely to succeed by doing it yourself. Read the guide here for more info.0 -
Do not use a company.
They will want to be paid even if you don't receive any money back, because any company you complain to that you already owe money to, can offset the redress against your debt, which is great for reducing your initial debt but rubbish when they ask fo their fee and you have to find that money.
Go to the PPI board and ask for help there.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0
