Hemel Hempstead to Milton Keynes by train or bus

Just a question about the proximity of the main shopping centre to the coach station or the train station. Will it be necessary to take a bus to the shops and is it easy enough?
I do drive but don't really fancy doing so and am looking for the easiest method of getting there and back for a day's shopping.
Thanks.

The coach station (Coachway) is at junction 14 and several miles from the centre. You can get buses from there to the centre.
The train station is about a 20 minute walk from the station. Alternatively, loads of buses head to the shops.0 -
It about a 1/3 mile walk to the start of the main shopping area from the Railway Station. Milton Keynes Coachway (Coach Station) is next to the M1 in Broughton, over 3 miles away..0
