£99 Ford Service - Free £20 Sainsbury's Voucher

I was just about to book my car in for a service and stumbled upon this offer from Ford:

"Do you have a Ford vehicle over 3 years old? If so, drive in for a Ford Value Service for £99 or pull up for a Ford Value Service and MOT for £129 (£139 for commercial vehicles) before 30th September 2007 and pocket a £20 Sainsbury’s voucher"

I've just been told my service cost today for my 2 year old Ford Ka (9000 miles) is £175 :( How come they can do such a good deal for cars 3 years old when I would have thought the service cost of a newer car would be cheaper.

Blummin ripoff merchants. Hope they're doing the same deal next year when it is 3 yrs old.

Part of the Furniture 500 Posts Combo Breaker
I'm not too concerned about the voucher offer, I'm more concerned about what a Value service is.
I know that the air con is not part of the service and this becomes an add on, also replacing the brake fluid every two years is also an add on, but what else is an add on when they call it a Value service

A choice of promotions on a Ford Value Service
Is your Ford over three years old? If so, it qualifies for a £99 Ford Value Service – a cheaper alternative to a full service, designed especially for older vehicles.

And now we’ve made a Ford Value Service better value than ever. You can take up either of these two options:

    1. Pop in for a Ford Value Service at just £99 and we’ll give you a £25 giftcard to spend at any of seven specially selected retailers.
    2. Combine a Ford Value Service with an MOT and you’ll pay only £129 – saving 15% – plus, you’ll receive a £25 giftcard, as above.

Choose where to spend your £25 giftcard
You can choose a giftcard to spend at any of the following places:

    • Amazon.co.uk • B&Q • Debenhams
    • iTunes
    • Sainsbury’s
    • ToysRUs • M&S

To claim your giftcard, bring your car in before 31st March 2009
To take advantage of either promotion, simply bring your car to any participating Ford Authorised Repairer or Rapid Fit centre.

Your Ford Value Service will be carried out by expert Ford-trained technicians, using quality parts to exacting Ford standards. In fact, we even have the RAC conduct random quality checks, to help us maintain those standards.

When you come in, remember to quote ‘Pick and Mix offer’ to your repairer, and let them know which store giftcard you prefer. Then you’ll be sent your chosen giftcard through the post.

For details on how to use each giftcard, download the Terms and Conditions.
