Re-pointing brickwork of a house

Would anyone have any suggestions on someone who could re-point the brickwork of a house in Belfast?

What sort of price do you think this might cost for both the front and back of a two-storied terraced house in Belfast?

Quotes without seeing the job are often impossible, however I know a good man who could look at it for you and quote if you want his number send me a PM.

Do it yourself. Repointing is pretty straight forward. It's one of the few DYI jobs I'd consider doing myself.

I know in theory it should be relatively simple, but I also know that where DIYers can get unstuck is getting cement over the brickwork, and not just between the bricks. Making a right mess of the finish.

I don't know if there's any way to ensure this doesn't happen.

You would consider = haven't done before? Operating a grinder off a ladder/scaffold, and re-pointing correctly is not a simple DIY job. Most brickies could do it, though not all will.

Totally disagree with doing it yourself… have you seen some of the messes even pro or semi-pro pointers have made as you walk the streets? You want it done once and done right, I've PMed the firm that did ours.
