Great news. HMS Caroline to become a museum.

I think everybody knew it was going to happen. I was so delighted when I heard they were going to be able to keep this ship in Belfast and I've been waiting patiently to see how much funding it would attract. HMS Belfast is such an iconic image for the pool of London, and I'd like to see Caroline with her turrets restored doing the same for Belfast.
In fact I think it could be the start of something bigger as a couple of years ago I was talking to the executive about the possibility of putting together a complete military museum at Titanic Quarter. I think it would be a wonderful venture, especially if it could be organised in conjunction with the National Museum of Ireland's pre-existing Irish Soldier exhibition at Collins Barracks.
