0% Mortgage????

Options
Hi all,

I get a daily newsletter from money morning which is alway very informative and keeps me upto date with what is going on in the world of finance. However from time to time i receive advertising e-mails from them. These e-mails always seem to be pushing some kind of get rich quick scheme and always sound too good to be true, and if something sounds to good to be ture it usually is. The latest on i've received is one offering advice on getting a low interest rate on your mortgage. See Link
http://www.fsponline-recommends.co.uk/mmx?f0MMXc7n

I would like to know if anyone has ever tried any of these schemes and let me know how they got on. Any feedback would be much appreciated here. Thanks,
MMM...Money.
Keep on Saving.

Never tried a scheme like this but it looks like pure hocus pocus rubbish to me. My guess is they will take the £197 and run. Or possibly I'm just very cynical.

    i agree with Scottishsuz.
There may well be a way to get such a low interest rate but it will probably involve jumping through so many hoops or meeting so many conditions that practically no one qualifies.
It then means that you'd be struggling to claim a refund because they'll more than likely have a disclaimer in there.
Probably involves a pyramid scheme of some sort.

Normally if a deal seems too good to be true, then it probably is.
I'd walk away before i lost my £197.
Or maybe I'm too cynical too!!

    Mortgage-free Glee!
Why do all these scams always go on about "secrets" that "they" (whoever "they" are - aliens?) don't want us to know about that will save us millions of pounds a year?

I have to say that I'm also wondering about the OP's motives for posting this - he has a low post count which makes me suspicious.

Anywho, take it from me this isn't worth even clicking on.

Multi currency mortgages look attractive when the pound is rising. You could lose a LOT or money, with any correction in the currency markets. Far too volatile and high risk a strategy for a mortgage IMHO.
In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:

LOL! I thought that maybe it was just me, being the cynical c0w that I am. The first thing that sprang to mind when I read OP was :spam:

And that was without even clicking on the link! Maybe I need to pop to Tesco for some of that Milk of Human Kindness people are always gushing about... ;)

Absolute rubbish, couldn't be bothered reading it all, but as said the headline of 2% mortgage rates is basically saying that you should buy a mortgage in yen or Canadian Dollars. Where can you get these then?

A few years ago, some lenders did sell US Dollar mortgages on the same premis (US Interest rates were much lower than in the UK). Those that bought them have seen US rates increase faster than ours and currency movements went against them. They have seen their payment rocket and they are trapped by early repayment charges.

As a broker (FSA NO 454111) I would say avoid like the plague. There are deals which start at 0% interest with Yorkshire BS and to be honest I would say avoid these too. They are 0% for 6 months and then you are tied to the lenders variable rate for anothr 5 years or so.

I think we should give him the benefit of doubt. He might only have seven posts, but is a new member!!!

Also his other posts are in some strange threads! even one about getting a cheap bath.

Maybe he was just asking for advice

  • Hello all,
I would also be suspicious if i read this but this was a genuine post. I get these e-mails all the time cause i supscibe to money morning free daily e-mail and they send me advertising e-mails like this all the time. I also got a free copy of money wise magazine advertised in martins weekly e-mail a few weeks ago and i am now getting similar e-mails from them. I was just wondering if anyone had tried one of these. I also think it if it sounds to good to be true it usually is just though i'd ask if anyone had any experience with this sort of thing.

Thanks to all for the replys.
