Anyone had any experience of using this online retirement planner called Retire Easy.
It sounds good and appears to be free - but I'm naturally suspicious so thought I'd check here first.
Thanks...

Do you have a link....
This looks like it: https://www.retireeasy.co.uk/
Site registered in 2010, seems to have relaunched in its present form in Oct 2011.
Not used/heard of it myself, but given the time it's been around is more probably legit than not.
Edit: Just tried it - seems a bit naff personally, but I didn't spend a great deal of time on it. I certainly wouldn't use it personally - but it may prove useful for at least estimates to for someone to get ball-park figures.Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries0 -

...What's in it for the site creators??????????/0

People regularly come on here and are pointed to the site.
If you read its blurb then it is just a user friendly face on an excel spreadsheet.
Naff or not it makes you list your assets and how you intend to use them against your spending plans.
They used to charge but do not now.
I had a couple of queries and wrote to them and they came back with solutions after a week or so.
If anyone has anything better then let us know.0 -

Originally, they made an annual charge for its use. They now have a "professional" version targeted at financial advisors, which I assume they make some money from, and they made the single person/couples version free to use.
I find it quite useful for illustrating various scenarios. It can be programmed for different rates of inflation, investment returns, interest rates etc, much like the Royal London planner (MoneyVista). I tend to make use of both of them, but I find RetireEasy's graph presentation better than MoneyVista, plus the ability to download your scenarios to a spreadsheet and tweak further if desired is useful.
I doubt it does anything that can't be accomplished in a spreadsheet, but neither having the ability or the time to create something relevant to my circumstances without learning much more about Excel or similar, I'm quite happy with both of these tools.
There's a limit to what is actually available in the way of UK specific software for retirement planning, unlike the US where there seems to be a multitude of options. If anyone is aware of anything else/better I'd be interested to know.0 -

Hello all
Firstly, thanks for all your comments and critique. RetireEasy LifePlan was the first and we believe remains the only free web based asset and income forecasting tool out there specifically developed for the over-50s nearing or in retirement.
Many retirees need to supplement their fixed income by cashing in other assets and our research told us that retirees take such action with fear and uncertainty about their financial future. Our overarching goal in developing RetireEasy LifePlan was to try and remove some of this fear by creating a safe and easy-to-use retirement planner that shows an individual when liquid assets will run out and how this may be delayed or averted by plotting a range of ''what -if'' scenarios.
RetireEasy has no plans to introduce any subscriptions or charges to the general public going forward.
Happy retirement planning to you all.0
