This is something that puzzles me, tis a genuine question so be nice

I am going to use Jambo as an example only because I have just done today new Mags comps

Jambo posts loads of new Mags comps each day to the end of the Mags comp thread, then the person who "runs" that thread moves it to the top 9/10 threads and puts into the correct magazine.

So my question is why does Jambo not put it straight into the right place? It seems to be a waste of time and effort for each comp to be posted twice.

(The same can be said for the dailies, weeklies, once, raffle ect comps, and all the folks who post comps in those, as I said I used Jambo and the Mags as an example as I have just done them )

no idea, supposedly its been discussed load of times

it might be that the person who runs the topic likes to collate them correctly so takes the details from what is posted.

just a lot of red crossing for me

The main reason for that not happening is that I would have to post every mag daily comp that is posted because only one person can run the main thread, so when I go off with my caravan which is quite regular the thread will not get updated.

Thanks sax So it is OK to post every comp twice as long as the forum threads are tidy?

As I said Jambo you were just an example, I meant nothing derogatory towards anyone

I appreciate everyone who posts comps for us to enter :T

I understand folks have a life and need a break another lady earlier today asked someone to cover her and cover was sorted very quickly.

I just did not understand why all the comps had to be posted then moved again to their correct place, not just on one but on every thread.

are you asking about posting to the main board, then posting to the end of the daily thread, then the person running it moves it to the front?



if so, it is much simpler for people running the threads to go straight to their thread and see what wants posting in their daily thread. i dont go through the whole board every day so i rely on people posting the rafflecopter/gleam dailies at the end of the daily thread.
people comp straight from that thread ... apparently. altho i am skeptical about the Raff daily thread as not many people seem to use it and many Raff comps are being missed cos only a few core people bother to post the comps to it ... but thats another story ...

been discussed/asked lots of times,
peeps wanted them posted on the comps board first then added to the daily thread/s so that way everyone is supposedly happy,
peeps who don't venture into the reg/dailies threads will see them on main board & peeps who just use the reg/daily/board get them there

I think we are getting mixed up FireFlyI did not mean anything about cross posting (that is another daft subject altogether :eek:)

So I opened that and open Daily mags, today Jambo has posted a dozen or so new comps to the end of the thread, what I wanted to know was why he could not just add them straight to the top of the thread. That way (is it Katie that runs that thread?) the person who runs that thread would not have to copy exactly what Jambo has just done but move it to the top of the exact same thread it is posting every comp twice.

Nothing to do with copying the comps to other boards.

because only one person has control of the thread. Jambo cannot add to the top because it is Katie who maintains it.

hi, I didn't say anything about cross posting/copying,

the posts that jambo/cornishpasty/ whoever posts on the
ends of the daily threads are posted on comps main board first then posted to the end of the daily thread so that the
thread keeper, which is Katie at this time for the mag dailies ,
can paste/copy them onto the main 1st page of the daily thread/s,
so when you open the reg comps you say..

We are on the same page

Why can only Katie add them to the 1st page?
Why can Jambo/Cornish not do that?
This means each comp has to be posted twice, once by Jambo/Cornish to the bottom of the thread then again by Katie to the top of the thread.

Sorry, I never saw this in between all the other threads, that explains it all.

So would it be possible for anyone to post straight to the top and Katie just keep it tidy? It would save all the double posts
