That all does sound very positive and must be a huge weight off your and your sis minds.

With visitors, I guess people are trying to do the right thing and be there. I think people often think that people in hospitals/care homes etc are lonely and its thoughtful of them to visit. The truth is, I expect wherever you are you just want a routine and time to do your own thing. It'll hopefully settle down. Don't be afraid to tell people to stay away until he settles in if that's what he needs. Or even sort out a managble (for him) visiting rota.

Im glad that it's going well :A

I think he has been putting off people for so long they are pleased to be able to see him. My sister is keeping a rota but needs everyone to let her know their intentions. He throughly enjoyed his busy social day on Thursday but will try to get everyone to book in with my sister first.
Dad was always one to visit people who were either Ill or housebound. His neighbour for 25 years he used to take books round to even though they were only really on nodding terms before neighbour fell ill. He has always been a visitor who takes well thought out things. I remember the last thing he posted my uncle was an article out of newspaper about the wartime tunnels the people of rams gate used to live in during ww2 leaving children underground while they went to work when worse bombing was going on.
It will all settle down and everyone is very considerate about not taking any sniffles in with them.

And another thing, on MSL you cannot really see that you need to buy 2 Birds Eye items to get 50% off.

Good news for Sad_Dad though as he can get his claim in now :)

Im just glad you are all feeling happier in yourselves. Your Dad sounds like a wonderful person, just enjoy the time you have together :A

On that note I am hi-jacking your post to say I am disappearing for a while. Not long hopefully, but I have real life stuff I need to deal with. I won't lurk......Im a useless lurker :o I always see something I want to respond to so its better to just switch off. Im putting it here in the middle of the night so someone will see it and tell the folks who haven't seen it that im ok. I am ok......just have to turn my attention to other things for a bit.

    :A:A Love you all :A:A

  • Good morning.

We had a lovely time at Center Parcs, Woburn.

Today will be spent washing all the clothes from our holiday and finishing off the shoe boxes for the shoe box appeal.

Have a lovely day everyone. :)

Glad you enjoyed it. You were very lucky with the weather and it is a beautiful setting. Less than a mile from my dd so probably passed you at least 6 times. :rotfl:
