The point was she paid for 500g and as they didn't have them she got 1kg as a substitute which Asda only charged the 500g price :)

    Of course v T if she'd bought 3 it would comp on 3 for 2 perhaps ?

I don't think it would - isn't this in the offer with the bakery and Dr Oetker baking stuff at T, just going from my memory there? Items in that bakery/cake decs/flour offer are different individual prices, so they won't compare if you buy 3 or more.

I can't say I've ever heard it used when addressing a child! Obviously the mother of the child thought it was ok if she didn't say anything? We're they youngsters? Id have been as shocked as you

The mother smiled and thanked her. The pair of them were early 30s I guess.

It was one of those "is it just me" moments:o

This isn't the first time I've heard this. Our language is evolving all the time I know but can't get my head around this one. I almost wanted to take her to one side and explain the connotations.

Do you think you would feel better if you told CS and explained how its made you feel.

I wouldn't have liked hearing cleaner talking like that and cant understand why mother didn't say anything.

we hadn't had any trick or treaters from about 8:30 so took the sign down from the front door at 9pm & 5 mins ago 2 five year olds knocked on the door  is it me or is it too late for little ones to be out trick or treating? i've told ds2 & 3 no more answering the door tonight now!

I had the same and I think 9pm is too late for little ones myself. I didn't get any older kids which was nice.
