A fresh start...

Hello all

I've decided to start a new diary. I haven't been around for quite a while, although have lurked in the background.

So currently we have around £10,000 of debt, a £7000 loan that was taken out to sort out our bathroom and roughly £3000 on credit cards

The main reason for the cc is I had a baby! He came with all sorts of expenses (even though we did things on the cheap) and instead of cutting back on maternity we carried on living as we had and ignored the fact that I was only on SMP.

The bathroom badly needed doing and has done since we moved into the house a few years ago, so once baby arrived we decided that it should really get sorted before he got too big for the kitchen sink!

So all in all we have a shiney new bathroom, a gorgeous little boy and a new look at life and saving money. The loan is over 3 years, with about 2.5 years left to run and at a quite low APR so I'm not overly concerned about beating that down right at this minute, but the 2 cc are at 12 and 15ish% ( I need to double check these and get actual amounts) so they need to be dealt with as quick as possible.

My first call of the day is to have a look for a 0% deal, in which case I'll be able to hopefully get the amounts down quicker, just not sure if I've got a good enough credit score at the moment to get one!!

I shall update actual figures shortly, as well as outgoings etc. Wish me luck!!!
