Tuesday 14th October - What small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym .
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:

Morning All
How often do you read your meters Ziggy out of interest? This is now my latest obsession having seen how much we've been able to save just by paying attention.
Today, I have already been to the supermarket, wanted to get out before it rains again. Got soaked 3 times yesterday which is horrible when you have to put your wet shoes and coat on again to go out.
I digress. Am just simmering onions which I will split between the tomato & butter bean soup I am making, & the fish pie Im making now for tommorows dinner.
The supermarket were doing one of those 4 cans for £1 deals so I got two chopped toms, a chick pea & a butter bean. It is harvest festival at school this week so I will take in a can for the food bank.
Checked my banking. 9 days till OH gets paid. Not that I am counting (Im counting like mad & thinking about it all day at the moment)
Does anyone else get so frustrated with how little you can achieve in making a real huge difference day to day? I know all the little things help along the way, but sometimes it feels like your just on hold. But thats depressing so I wont go there.
I will stroll over to Ad Points in a moment & see what I can click there to make a difference. My nectar points are almost up to another voucher point.
Good luck today all!

Morning all
Horrible outside again today, pouring with rain
So far I have:
Sorted out airing cupboard and put bedding etc in chests in bedrooms
Put a few items in a bag for the charity clothing bin at the supermarket
Cut up an old curtain valance for cleaning cloths. I get through a lot of these as my sales stock comes from auction usually and tends to be filthy
Been to sales unit and returned the silver plate items I took out yesterday to clean. Also added a few more things
Still to do:
HM meals from stores - soup from yesterday for lunch, and I will make a tortilla for supper to use up lots of eggs! Done, I put chorizo, red and yellow peppers, a tomato, some cold potatoes, some spinach and parmesan in it
Put hyacinth bulbs in glass vases to grow
I had to google what to do with them after 'planting' and it seems they must go in a dark cupboard until the roots have grown and a shoot has appeared. A bit late for Christmas, but it will be nice to have them in the dark days of January or February
Not done this yet - DD appeared with grizzly baby
Clean more silver plate - this time the serving dishes sitting on my dresser. They will look nice all shined up
Nope
Make Nigella's chilli jam to use chilli crop
Not done this either
Put hoover round downstairs as I will be looking after baby GD tomorrow, and she looks for things to eat on the floor  :rotfl: In a minute!
Hope everyone has a lovely day, despite the weather!0 -

Happy Monday # 2 lovelies...
Today I am keeping my eye on the prize by:
1. Coming here to keep motivated and place my financial life where it should be, at the front of my mind.
2. Eating only home cooked food.
3. Probably will meditate later on.
4. Play with the pooch.
5. Working on my online business.
I think that is it. Enjoy this Tuesday, perfect day for snuggling under the blankets with a hot chocolate...:DDebt as of March 2018, £794 rent arrears £4273.7 debt, £900.70 in pay day loans, total £5968.40 . Total debt today £5968.40

A very rare chance to come onto to MSE during the day, but it's only a fleeting visit as off to pick DD up in a minute, but just wanted to say that this is how I feel ALL the time, Bobarella, so you're not the only one.Does anyone else get so frustrated with how little you can achieve in making a real huge difference day to day? Thanks for that, I'm sorry you get the debt drag down too, but it's always comforting to feel in good company. As it were!" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Back again with time to do a proper post. Thanks for starting us off Ziggy and for your kind words the other day and hello to everyone else!
So today:
All meals from stores
No spend day (yeah)
Checked bank
Checked updated noodle credit report, which is showing my overdraft at zero
No heating on tonight (so far!)
Made a double batch of chilli, this will make 4 meals - tomorrow and Thursday and 2 for the freezer
Had a productive day at work, sometimes I don't feel like I've achieved anything, but today I came away feeling like I had.
That's about it for now
