We have had this done before, we asked on a market stall who sold rugs. Depends on what sort of shops you have in your area. Maybe a smaller carpet shop.

    Hi Kezlou

A carpet shop will have a binder (I think that is what they are called) and can bind the edges of the carpet for you... I think an independent is more likely to do this than a big name seller.

Please post back if you manage to find someone as I will want one doing next month!

yes, you can. and it is called and edge binder. I would ring around local carpet sellers and ask. a big carpet factory near me would do this too.
  • I bound the edge of the left over bit off carpet myself. I bought some 2 inch wide canvas binding tape from a haberdashery shop and used wool in a contrasting colour, I then sewed the tape on using a running stitch which I did as close to the edge of the tape as possible the pile of the rug then hides the stitches. I have had the rug down for over a year and is still fine.

  • You can bind the edge on your own. A one and a half inch binding tape wiil be handy in this. Moreover you can also use durable wool to repeat the stitching.
