A new start

Hi everyone , feeling a bit better today than yesterday i have a lovely hubby and 2 wonderful children both got good jobs but sadly we got ourselves into a mess with our money .
We have a BIG loan that's got another 2 years to pay which is like us paying 2 mortgages :( , we also have the credit cards which once that loan is paid off we hope to get another one to cover them and we're going to pay of the car and next bill early next year when my hubby gets his bonus normally we use it for a holiday but no more !!
We're both in our early forties so really want to be totally debt free by the time we are 50 , It is and still going to be a long hard slog but will be worth it eventually
I budget our money the best we can with 2 children £50 per week is my strict food budget and i only leave £10 in my purse for basic essentials very difficult when we have Christmas coming up and no spare cash already decided our children get one main present and stocking fillers that's all they are both teenagers do they do understan
we akso just buy for children in our family have done for years but i will be cutting down on them as well .
Been looking at this site for a long time and feel ready to start posting as i'm feeling so determined to have a better life and stop worrying every day

    Hi just me again !!
I have decided to go and make my son a Halloween costume as i don't have a spare £15 or £20 to pay for one it's getting ridiculous how much they are like everything so commercialized .
Wish me luck never made anything like this before :)
  • Good luck on the Halloween costume. I have started my Christmas shopping as we are moving cities again at the start of December. I buy for my friend's children and have decided that they are all getting Christmas pyjamas this year. Mothercare have them at 2 pairs for £10 and so I bought all the children the reindeer ones! I also used T8pcashback and so got cashback on my purchases using a cashback credit card so it works out even cheaper.

I don't know how near you live to Edinburgh but The National Museum of Scotland is free and the racing car simulator is amazing, I'm sure your son would love it. There is also a spelling mistake on one of the signs so my challenge to you is to find it...
Life is like a sandwich, the more you put it in then the tastier it gets.............just go easy on the :spam:

Thanks that sounds good about the pyjamas
delighted the Halloween costume workec and has not cost me anything :)

I have been to the museum quite a few times and we love it but i would have to spend extra money on petrol so sadly we'll not be going just now :(

Just so determined to get out of this debt as quickly as possible i think i will feel a bit better when back to work next week as much as i love being on holiday with the kids i do feel under more pressure and missing my tips i make at work they can give me an extra £20 ish per week which i'm planning to put them away for the debt instead of in my purse x
