Very interesting thread. I totally understand why it is paying for you to keep the small mortgage. Afterall you have the funds to pay it off if the need arises. Well done.0

My Mum loaned us a deposit for our first flat and we will always be grateful to her for that. My parents were a given a deposit on their first (and only) house by my Grandad. It's a wonderful thing to be able to do . Hopefully, one day we can do it for our kids too.;)
As for the cost of weddings these days - well it's crazy:eek: but again don't suppose it was ever cheap.
Well done & Good Luck

This thread is still alive, just awaiting an update from you Doodle Bug.
How have the last few years been for you?If Plan A fails, remember there are 25 more letters0 -
Hi there if any of you are still around, I seemed to forget about this thread. My mortgage officially runs to 2020. without looking I can't remember when I virtually paid the mortgage off. My payment is £8 or so a month and I owe less than £350. I just can't seem to want to totally pay it off until it runs its term. I have been in my current job for 9 years now and much prefer it to my previous one. It is amazing how your savings balance increases with not having a big mortgage payment going out each month. A few years ago my savings I have now would have given me a substantial annual income but obviously not now. Hopefully a lot of you are closer to being MF.0
