Hi everyone
Ideas needed please
I have just bought a permanent advent calendar with 24 little wooden doors to put your own gifts in. I have some posh chocolates to put in some but need some ideas for the rest.
Items have to be small and not too expensive as there are 24 of them!
It is for my OH who is 66 and male
Thanks in advance

Saw the thread title, and was coming on with lots of ideas, but then saw it's for a 66 year old male, and think he might have different likes to my 8 year old girl
What are his hobbies?
If he likes cooking you could put different spices in that he hasn't tried before.
Or gardening, you could put in seeds.
Or a suduko puzzle/crossword puzzle for each day. Plenty online you could print out.
Or a jigsaw puzzle, a few pieces each day. I do similar but with Lego kits for my daughter.
Sure I'll think of more laterZebras rock0 -
How about "PROMISE" note. Something he is interested in or wants to do but doesn't get the chance. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Thanks for this
He likes croquet, bridge, cooking, sudoku, me:D, the cat, puzzles, playing on his new Apple computer, favourite tv show is Wheeler Dealers, his "new" 10 year old Lexus, eating out, food generally, days out
That's all for now0 -

Definitely printed suduko and other puzzles then
Also maybe treat promise of a meal out or a special meal on some days.Zebras rock0 -
If you have a home Bargains near you I have seen little sets of puzzles there. I can't remember the price it was similar to this

You could divide them up for different days.
Since he likes Wheeler Dealers how about a hot wheels toy car. Poundland usually do a good variety of them.0 -

Kathrynha I stumbled on this thread by chance after spending a few hours walking round the shops racking my brains for what I can put in some advent crackers that I bought in the sales last year ( seemed like a good idea at the time)! My daughter is 7 so I'd love to know what ideas you have!?!0 -
:xmassign::xmastree:New idea
After a trip to TKMaxx (trying to dodge him walking round the shop!) I found lots of lovely little items costing very little money. None of them will fit into the advent calendar so they will get wrapped up and hidden in the house each day with a rhyming clue, carefully penned by me, in each day's door of the calendar. Some days will just have a chocolate or lebkuchen and one or two for the cat.
This will work for me as I have enough time to do it and love writing little rhymes :T:T0
