Club La Costa win/scam

I had a call from them yesterday , apparently I won a 7 day holiday in either Spain, Tenerife, Austria or Turkey. There was a freephone number to call to confirm my prize. I asked the lass what was the catch, she replied "nothing"
I did my own research on this board, and its a timeshare scam. Pah!
Thanks to everyone for reporting the scams, I'd have gone to Birmingham to collect my tickets without realising it was a ploy to get me to spend more money.
Thanks once again

Thanks for Sharing. Hope you get a proper win Soon :)
  • Hmmm..
I had the same 'win' too, last week.
After much researching on the net hubby & I have decided not to bother.
Saying that....many people do go along, stick by their guns and just take the holiday.#
    We'll be giving it a miss though!#

  • I got a phone call today on my mobile about a holiday I had won and could I phone a freephone number and give a reference and have the paperwork about my win sent out to me.

Does this sound like the same scam? They asked three weird questions before they told me what the call was about. A) Was I aged 23 to 65 B) Was I owning my own home and C) was I still living with a partner. I was starting to smell a rat.

My husband took a phonecall for me when I was out this morning, from CLC (Club La Costa) saying I had won a 7 day holiday, details the same as yours littlegoldfishie. An hour later, he had a call from another CLC rep, saying I had won another holiday, same details, through a different competition. My lucky day!!! ...somehow I don't think I shall be taking either of them......:rotfl:

I went along to one of this meetings - i was told would last only 1 hour and 50 minutes - i was there for 2 hours 30 minutes - they have me a £50 M&S voucher for my troubles and a free holiday - I am NOT taking up the holiday as there are a lot of rules to follow and I dont want to be pestered on holiday after timeshares - the £50 voucher was ok though for going!
