Halifax's 0% on purchases for 12 months

Can someone help me out with this?

http://www.halifax.co.uk/creditcards/one_12_months_td.asp?source=995083

The way I read this, this means that as along as you keep up your minimum payment each month, all purchases within 12 months are interest free for that period.

However this bit make me not so sure:

Maximum 59 days for purchases if you pay the balance in full and on time. There is no interest free period on cash advances, cheques and balance transfers

Does that mean if I pay the balance by DD i only get 59 days, whereas if I have a DD to pay the minimum I get 12 months?

You will get 12 months as long as you pay the at least mimimum balance requsted by the due date.

I'm an existing halifax one Card User, anyone know if I would be able to receive the 0% balance transfer?

I have just applied for this and received a credit limit of £2200

Like sasilverman I intend to use it for purchases for 12 months paying off the minimum balance each month (does anyone know what that is exactly? 3% or something yeah?)

Anyway £2200 is nowhere near high enough, how would I go about increasing this? If I were to threaten them by saying I don't want the card unless they up the credit limit is that likely to work?

Just as an aside, does anyone know if there is a list somewhere of average credit limits associated with each credit card (based on an individual on an average salary with a good credit rating)

No, but you may be able to appeal and ask for a review, by providing further information about your financial situation.

They may well also increase your limit after six months of correct usage.

When I recieved my card, a couple of weeks ago, they told me they cannot consider any increases to credit limits in the first six months. I was actually reducing my limit but they said I wouldn't even be able to re-raise it in the first six months should I wish...
