Hi PaP - I had a No Spend Day again today. :T :T
I will be away most of next week, so I won't enter the weekly challenge, but I WILL 'keep it low'.
Why did they merge the Harry Potter thread?
Goodnight PaP.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

DFW Nerd # 166 PROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBTS0 -
I did the Race for Life this morning so spent afternoon relaxing in front of the tv, spent £1.89 on bottle of coke for family party & some mints, first Low spend day I've had in ages, am desperately needing some NSDs now though as bank balance is really low & resorting back to bad ways (i.e. not keeping up spending diary & not checking bank balance regularly) so I've given myself a huge kick up the backside & determined to get back on track now, which means making my daily visits to MSE again which I have been unable to do much of recently due to having no internet & work being manic cos of OFSTED & leaving cos of horrible HT
Am going to budget for £30 this week- know this seems high really as nothing I need (except possibly petrol but going to try to walk more whilst off work anyway) but I want to try to get my brother out of the house as I'm really concerned about him  he seems to be depressed & has no self-confidence so I thought a trip to the cinema or a comedy club might at least get him out of the same 4 walls he stares at every evening?
Good luck everyone, keep it low!!Married my wonderful husband February 2013!:happyhearI want to wear my beautiful wedding dress everyday- it would make shopping so much more fun, I mean, people go shopping in their pyjamas these days.......Must STOP spending!!!Proud to be dealing with my debts!0 -
Ok, confession time!! Last week I aimed for a No Spend Week - failed at the first hurdle because I met my Nana and treated her to lunch, so £4.90 there. Then someone crashed into my car, so feeling sorry for myself we had a takeaway that night - £22.65. Went for a meal out on Thursday to celebrate the end of term, used BOGOF vouchers and had only one drink and no pudding (talk about a meal out the DFW way) so spent £23.95 for 4 of us.
Also, comfort food to ease the aches and pains and general cheesed offness of the accident - ice cream, chocolate etc all means that my total is off the scale.
So, this week, we have the first week of the school holidays, so I am having a limit of £10 which is to include a cinema ticket on orange wednesday for the kids.
I am determined to claw back the excesses of last week!
Good luck everyone xxSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Can I just ask, what do you consider to be Low Spend Days. I may have more success with these rather than aiming for the ever elusive NSDs!!
Any suggestions gratefully received!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Well sunday was going well till the call of choc got to much... somehow that became crisps (£1.45, BOGOF) and penguins (£1.19, 100% extra free) so not the best start but at least I got a fair bit of uneccessary junk food for my money..............
Got my prescription this morning and got a £2 coin (which I collect) in the change so I've now got £15.66 left...Mortgage free as of 12/08/20!
