Well given that everywhere online seems to be selling that TV for between £470 and £650, I would be astonished if you could not find somewhere that JL would price match with.

In fact on another forum people have got the TV you are looking at for as low as £499 from JL and JL have had it on display in one of their stores for £529.

Just been completely frustrated today, second time tried to get John Lewis to price match a TV and they refused again. First time it was because the shop "didn't have them in stock when they checked". So OK next time we made absolutely sure to redo price match when they got in a new delivery of a load of them. But the letter this morning made no mention of stock, this time it was because "+£49 for delivery to xxxxxx(town spelled incorrectly)". Well we hadn't asked for delivery so it should be irrelevant. Seems to me if it's a lot cheaper, they'll make up reasons not to uphold their price match. Phoning them only gets that there's nothing they can do and to put it in writing and that the shop probably lied to me both about the stock and that they charge delivery even for collecting it in store!!! I just don't know how to get a price match out of them especially as they said "no further discussion" even though they're price matching something we haven't asked for, ie delivery.

Just been completely frustrated today ...

So have you been to the other shop that is offering the TV at the cheaper price, do they have it on display with a "shelf-edge price" (with no delivery charge for collections) and have it in stock? If so I cannot see what the issue is, and would put it in writing to JL. If not, then is the problem is that the retailer is telling JL something different to that they are telling you?
