Carpet washers/cleaners

Hi all.

I currently have a Bissell Pro Heat Carpet Washer which, frankly weighs a ton and is currently on the local Freecycle site awaiting collection. Yes, I have admitted defeat with this model, despite the fact it was very good. Can't get it up the stairs and tend to cripple my back trying to use it.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to a more suitable model that does what it says on the tin and is ... much lighter.

I have read so many reviews that I am totally confused. I did decide on a Hoover Power Scrub Deluxe Carpet Washer only to find that by the time I had made up my mind it seems to have been discontinued.

I don't want one with all the accessories for stairs/upholstery etc., just one to get the tea/coffee/wine spots and general dirt off the carpets.

Thank you for your reply NeverInDebt. Unfortunately, this model is not unlike the one I have just given away.

I think it is a case of age catching up with me and I need something around the 6kg without all the attachments.
