Hi :hello:
I'm bored of eating the same things all the time so this week I want to make different things.

Sunday-Chicken and bacon casserole with herb dumplings
Monday-HM KFC style chicken and HM spicy wedges
Tuesday-Minced beef with cheesy cobbler topping, cauliflower and broccoli
Wednesday-Chicken adobo
Thursday-Cauliflower, egg and potato curry with turmeric rice
Friday-HM pizza and garlic bread
Saturday-Cheese and leek pie with cauliflower cheese

Breakfasts will be weetabix, porridge with dried fruit or toast.
Lunches will be HM bacon and mushroom quiche, HM cheese and onion pasties and sandwiches with egg mayo or corned beef.
Snacks will be fruit, yoghurt, jelly and biscuits.

Have a frugal use up week :j

Sunday - HM Squash risotto (more from OHs parents garden!)

Monday - Red Lentil, Chickpea and chilli soup

Tuesday - Black Bean (some cooked in freezer) Stew with spinach (freezer)

Wednesday - Lentil bolognese (frozen from last week) on rice

Thursday - Mixed bean chilli and wedges

    Friday - At a friend's for dinner

Saturday - Pub lunch, leftovers/sandwiches for dinner

Sunday - Lentil shepherds pie (bbc good food recipe). Filling in freezer. Or at mums for a birthday dinner, depends if I have to work from home that day.

That should get me to the 19th Oct only buying potatoes for the mash, and bread. Stocked up on soy/coconut milk when on offer and chooks might give us an egg or two soon! Either way we've decided on no more eggs until we get them from our own garden!

Could you give me your black bean burger recipe? We love our black beans but my HM bean burgers sometimes end up a bit soggy!

My plan for this week -
S - Turkey stir fry with rice (using up and leftover veg in the fridge)
M - Turkey casserole (freezer) with new potatoes
T - Grilled pork steaks with sauteed new potatoes and baked beans
W - (out) Baked potatoes with tuna and sweetcorn
T - (out) Baked potatoes with cheese and beans
F - Burritos with corn, cheese and salsa

I just need to shop for lunches - we'll have pancakes or toast for breakfast, soup or sandwiches for lunch. Fruit or yogurt for snacks.
    Have a good week everyone!
  • I've planned for the month for October and we've stuck to it as easily as when we plan weekly. I'm not sure why I thought it might "feel" different, but it hasn't :T and it's making sure we use up what's in the freezer/pantry. In fact, I've just sat and planned our 30 meals for November! :rotfl:

    Here's this week:
Sun: Friends coming for lunch...roast chicken, hm yorkies, gravy, roasts & mash with stuffing & veggies. Followed by peach crumble.
Mon: Exactly the same! :p but with gravy granules as we used all of the "real" gravy yesterday.
Tue: Carbonara using some leftover chicken & mushrooms.
Wed: Sausages, chips & beans (I'm sure butties may be made too!)
Thur: Tomato & sausage (leftovers) cheesy pasta bake.
Fri: Sneaky FB steak pie, chips & spag hoops.
Sat: HM Pizza, chips & salad.
  • This week's plan

    Monday ; Balsalmic tomato pasta
Tuesday ; Chicken goujons, chips (all HM), & beans
Wednesday ; HM Chicken & leek pie, mash & veg
Thursday ; Sweet potato & pineapple korma, rice & naan
    Friday ; Gigantes Plaki
Saturday ; Beef casserole & dumplings
Sunday ; Roast chicken, roast potatoes, lots of veg

Last week went totally to plan even though 2 of us had a sickness bug, just didn't eat on the freezer meal night :)

That is super organised dingdong, I don't think I'd even have enough food in to do it:rotfl:

I have to admit that I'm still not fully meal planned until the EOTM yet :o

Right, I'm doing it now before I do anything else :o

    Of course!
    It's;
1 canblack beans , rinsed and drained
    1 egg
    1/2 onion , chopped
1 cup whole wheat bread crumbs ( I also sometimes use half a baked sweet potato flesh as well if I think they'll be dry)
    1 teaspoon dried oregano
    1 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder or granules
    Salt and pepper to taste
    Hot sauce to taste

  • Oooh that chicken sounds lovely! Will def. try that at some point.

So Worried...my motivation is being Mrs Claus & Budget Admiral here at Ding Dong House. :D

Hehe...I'm on maternity leave and December is month 9 (& the 1st month I will receive no pay at all! :rotfl:) So basically if we don't stick to budget or come under (which is what I'm hoping for Oct/Nov) there's not much extra for treats/trips/anything:eek: from Dec-March.

Sticking to a budget isn't awful though. We have an annual budget we look at each month or so to check we're on track for every single spend category (hubby organises this!) and then my smaller monthly categories that I track all the time (groceries, fuel, eating out, "other" & vet costs - poorly/elderly cat blood checks & daily meds:eek:) Hubby and I being a little OCD for numbers helps us I'm sure...soul mates.

Sunny here, so dd and I are about to go for a stroll. xx
