Loans for non-US institution while already studying abroad

Any advice on how to go about finding a student loan while I am already studying abroad would be extremely appreciated.

My situation is that I am nearly finished with my masters degree in Europe, am a US citizen though and where I am at there are no US banks. So I am looking around online as I could possibly try to check out banks here, but there is a language barrier and of course as I don't have an account etc. in this country I can just imagine things being difficult as I don't have fiscal ties here. I see there are various sites that will give you loans (of course depending on credit score).

I have a fair/good credit score (704), and am only looking for about 2K, so it is not such a large amount.

What are my options? the only thing I can think of are online banks, but if that is the only option - I have no idea which ones to look in to, of course APR etc. is the most important and being an online loan the APR may be higher. I don't expect to take too long to pay it back, I hope within a year from the date of taking it and hence don't know if that is considered "short-term".

Thanks for any advice,

B

Credit scores are generally info only - they people that give you your credit score does not lend money and each lender will have their own criteria
I assume this is a general question as this is a UK forum and it does not sound like you are resident or working in the UK
    What income do you have?
  • Hello Caz,

Thanks for the response. Yes, this is a general question as I figure if loans etc. can be done online, then it can be done most anywhere with an internet connection. I however need to figure out if and and what options there are to find the loan. Currently I have no income as I am a student. This is why I am curious in to the student loans or personal ones so as to use for tuition. So I am trying to investigate online (or other resources).

    Thanks,

    B
