Frederickson International have different OS balance to me

This is for a Tesco credit card debt which has been passed from pillar to post over the years, but has eventually ended up with Frederickson International Ltd.
Following some discussions I read on here, I wrote to them to make sure that they were in fact the people who I was paying the direct debit to each month, and to confirm the outstanding balance.
They have listed all the payments from 8th July 2005, but their balance is £100 higher than mine.
Previous to FIL, the debt was held by Westcott, and I made a £100 payment to them, at the post office, on 30th June 2005. Thank goodness I am a bit anal about paperwork, because I have the stamped receipt for this sum.
The payment to Wescott was made 8 days before the original debt is noted on the letter I have received from FIL
Obviously, my balance is correct, and I have the receipt to prove that I made it. But do I query this amount with Westcot or FIL?
Will they ask me for the original of this receipt do you think, or will a photocopy suffice. I'm not happy at the thought of letting the original out of my possession!
When they accept that the balance is £265 and not £365 as in their letter, I will have that debt paid off completely in January next year! I can't wait. It's more exciting than Santa Claus lol. I am also down to a shade under £100 outstanding on my Lloyds TSB credit card, and once I get the charges claimed back from Capital 1, *I* will be debt free - yay yay yay! DH's debts are another matter though, although reclaiming those charges will go a good way towards getting them repaid.

Write to them and and state you are disputing the outstanding balance. While it is in dispute, FIL can not chase you for any further balance.
I would send them a copy of the receipt for the payment concerned and advise them that you are keeping the original.
FIL will then have to chase Wecot for the payment that has been made to this accountI am a debt counsellor working in the voluntary sector - we don't charge our clients for the work we do!0
