Just a heads up to those who might be tempted to buy the above on the basis that it is appears cheaper.
IT ISNT! This sits on the shelf next to regular jars of Gold coffee. 200g jar is £2.80 the 'refill' id £2.20. Great except the 'refill' is only 150g. On a pennies per gram basis it is 10p more and it doesn't refill the jar!
Hate anybody else to get conned like I have been.
I have written to Tesco and invited them to explain why they think it is a good idea - I'll post any answer here

The Nescafe refills are 150g too.
You need to work out what's the best value as there are always offers on with coffee - as well as everything else.
But yes, the refills should be cheaper, or what's the point??

I've always found that the jar is on offer a lot more than refills meaning that 9 times out of 10, its cheaper to buy the jar.
I buy Douwe Egberts Gold (only when on offer, otherwise its Aldi!) and it never works out cheaper to buy the refill, but their jar is so handy, I don't mind not buying the refill.0 -
I always check the labels to get the best value regardless of packaging. But in my new job I am not allowed to take glass jars in so when it's my turn to buy coffee I do begrudge having to pay more for less. The only way around it is to decant the jar into a tub I guess, but I'd just make a mess!!* Rainbow baby boy born 9th August 2016 *
