Settlement figure from Barclays

We are just about to move home and decided to settle some Loan accounts to improve our credit profile.

My wife has just requested a settlement figure from Barclays, she has 2 payments left to clear the account, the monthly payment is £356.66 and the want £1400 to settle the account?

I have just asked for a settlement from Sainsbury's bank, their figure with 5 payments outstanding adds up to slightly less than 5 payments, which makes sense.

Is there anything I can do? Otherwise I may as well just wait 2 months and the loan will clear anyway, not impressed with Barclays at all.

Is your wife absolutely positive that she only has 2 payments left to make? If she is then go back and challenge Barclays about the settlement figure, perhaps they just made a mistake.

Thanks it doesn't seem correct to me either, there is definitely an error somewhere there!
