am i being really dull and missing something??

The way i comp is by end date so i type in the search bar each day E;09/10. There seen to always be only 12 pages of comps. I do these 12 pages but then search the forum and find ones for that date that i've missed. Any ideas on what i'm doing wrong???

The search only returns a max of 12 pages, you're probably seeing the newest 12 pages.

You can play with the settings on the Advanced Search page to see different ones (e.g. set "Find Posts From" to "A Week Ago", or "Two Weeks Ago" etc.
And also try changing the "Sort Results By" to "In Ascending Order" to see the oldest ones first.
You'll still only see 12 pages (don't know if this can be changed) but by playing with the search criteria and order, you should end up being able to see them all

It's a limit on the MSE search - it gives up after 12 pages.
Have you read the beginners' guide? Well worth it, long though it is.

Better to order the forum by date (at the bottom under "Display options") and then page through to the start of the date you're interested in - particularly at month end when many many many comps end.

here's a page in date ending format, just move along until you get to the day you're entering for

and if you use the red cross buttons when entering any competitions, you should be able to see quickly which ones you've missed

Just click the wee arrow next to "Sort" at the top of the listings, then go through the pages until you find the ones at tomorrows date, they'll all be grouped together
