After 12+ years mine really needs to go - its wonky, rusty and too low.
The choice is bewildering - any recommendations? Or ones to avoid?
I'm rather tall, and happy to pay a reasonable amount if I can get another one to last 12 yeras!
thanks

Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.
Snowball says too far away, working hard to bring it forward.

I can't suggest a 'good' one, but definitely steer clear of the folding one sold by Argos. Even though it was expensive, it's rubbish, very flimsy and mine has really only lasted about 10 months. It's a nightmare to use as it's so heavy, and it's a real 'finger-trap' so it's no good if you've got small people running about.0

A wide one, its quicker with less turning.
I have a tefal one, I bought it off their website to fit their steam generator.0 -
Hello, I bought one of the extra wide ones from argos around 5 years ago and its very strong and sturdy. However one problem is the foam on top has gone flat and most of my ironing gets marked.Has anyone got an idea for where to buy some more of the foam from?
thanks:beer:0 -
I don't use an ironing board but use an ironoing pad I bought from Lakeland. It is huge. I spread it out on the kitchen table and its great for large bits of sewing that needs pressing as well:T0

hi, my ironing board is GREAT!! i got it for £13 in Lidl, although they do the same ones from time to time in Aldi too. It adjusts to a really igh height so it doesn't make my back ache, and it has it's own flex and a plug on the side so i can park it quite a way from the plug and watch tv! also it's extra wide and has a recessed iron rest (if that makes sense) so if you've got a big tank on your steam generator iron it can sit in there rather than on the floor. has been a great buy. the are on offer every now and then in Lidl/ Aldi. GET ONE!-GET ONE!:D0

I would just try and get a similar one to the one I already used to have, if it got old/bad, but I liked it.... I would just get a new similar one...0
