Over 5 weeks and still waiting a decision-what to do if they reject us?

We are trying to port out mortgage over. We need a 87%lt. Its only borrowing 5k more than we already had on the mortgage we've had for 9 years. Santander are being so so slow we're at risk of loosing the house. We were told yesterday its at the underwriters, no today its with the validators andit was going to be decided tomorrow and now today told 72hrs. I havea feeling they'll decline us as my husband has a rolling temp contract and they're making a huge fuss as I go on maternity in Dec. Plus stupidly we went overgrown on a recent months statement as my tax credit was stopped and I didn't realise until id already paid my childcare fees.

What shall we do if they reject us?we really don't want to loose the house and I am due a baby very soon. Our house we're selling completes Friday.
They def don't want us to keep our rate at 1.25% as during the 4 hour interrogation I was asked at least 7 times if I wanted them to look at New rates...

Given the LTV you are borrowing at and the request for further funds. Then it changes the dyamics of the risk you pose as a borrower. Decision is most likely delayed as it's had to have been escalated to a higher authority within the underwriting team.
