C&P problems

Recently, I have been unable to copy and paste from the MSE boards. For example, if I want to enter an email competition, I can highlight the email address, but I can't copy it. I was just wondering if anyone else is having this issue or if it's my laptop? I don't seem to be having the issue on other sites, although this hasn't been tested thoroughly!

I just click the link and it sends me to the email programme.

Which browser are you using?

Chrome. I have never managed to get the link to work, I'm not very bright, but the C&P method always worked before. It's probably me!

Perhaps other people who use Chrome could advise further.

I'm assuming that, like me, clicking on the email address doesn't automatically open your email system with the sender's email address already filled in.

I right click on the email address and then click on "copy email address".

If that doesn't work for you, another option is to press the scroll wheel over the email address. That will open up another page. The url will read "mailto:" followed by the email address, so you can C&P the url without the "mail to:" bit.

Are you using a mac? If so, you can use cmd + c to copy and cmd + v to paste.

Thank you. Right click isn't working either. It must be my laptop. Will have to investigate further. Thanks for all your help. :-)

Try clicking an email link from another site, just to check that it isn't just MSE that's the problem.

Could be something as simple as your clipboard is full ... I don't want to state the obvious but have you tried restarting?

It does seem to be limited to MSE, C&P is working on other sites. Really strange!
