Is it possible they announced closure to invite discussion from Stormont. Maybe seeking incentives to stay open? Mind you it wouldn't look good - a smoking ban imposed by Stormont and all the publicity about smoking being bad for you then they would turn round and award incentives to keep a cigarette factory open?0 -

Hmm. I read the link but I know nothing about this organisation so I can't make a proper judgement.0 -
And that would be link to a definition of a cult, not why religious pastures is one?0 -

My nosiness got the better of me so I looked Green Pastures up. what I've found signifies that it's an "independent evangelical" church which immediately conjures up images of a charismatic, Leslie Hale type, leader whose ambition is to establish his vision of what a church should be. In the case of Leslie Hale it all went tits up when he had managed to build his "Faith Tabernacle" just outside Glengormley, which is now sitting derelict - or was the last time I saw it.
The BBC has a nice informative article here, and it can be seen why traditional Christians would object to a church as trendy and youth oriented. The church looks like a shopping centre and indeed the pastor and force behind the church, Jeff Wright, has said he wants to include shops and other outlets as part of his vision which is undoubtedly why Happy Gardener raised the issue in the first place.
It's all new to me. I see nothing to be afraid of but in my typical cynical way I can see the !!!! falling out of the whole thing if the right funding doesn't keep flooding in.
