Depends on the court, but Manchester would have given me one 2 days after I called them should I have been in a position to take them up on their offer.
  • I phoned my local court earlier today and I am in on Tuesday next week. I think it depends on how busy they are in your area.

just want it over and done with, before I have a breakdown. im imagining all worst case scenarios. Like selling car for under value and paying 2 creditors over the others.
  • All creditors I believe are treated equally (someone will correct me if I'm wrong!!) How much is your car worth? If its less than 1500 you have nothing to worry about generally if you can prove you need it.

Not correct the value is 1000 or less and even then it is not a given that you will get to keep it.

Getting a car exempted-as-an-asset....isn't a chance thing that an OR might, or might not concede.

It is entirely up to the Bankrupt to present all evidence of the need for a car [in line with the guidelines in the stickies above?] to the OR.

The OR doesn't sit in judgement.

The OR needs to be presented with sufficiently reasonable evidence to allow the exemption. They do, after all, have to present a report to creditors.
No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......
