DMP and CDL?

Hi all
I am sooooo nearly there, but have hit upon a crisis as my partner has just been made redundant. The business he was working for has failed so he hasn't even been paid for this month and we had no notice! To make it worse, I've just started training to be a health visitor and I have no idea how I'll make ends meet. This was our big chance for me to get security for my daughter.
I'm looking at help with childcare costs from the university, but failing that, does anyone know whether I would be considered for a career development loan? I only have £435 left of my DMP.
Thanks in advance

Hi there
You may want to post this this on the Loans board as it's likely to get more responses on there.
Impossible to say whether you'd be approved for a CD loan - there are so many variables, from the amount you want to borrow to the sort of career you're studying for - but it is worth looking into. You should be able to get further info and literature by calling 0800 100 900.
With regards to the DMP, don't be afraid to let the company handling it know that you've had a change in circumstances and may need to reduce/suspend the remaining payments for now.
Good luck
Dennis

I've got a feeling you can claim statutory redundancy from the state if a business folds but I have no idea how. I hope a search on here/google will provide some clues.
