Don't know what to do with this loan.
Options
Hi,
In September I applied for a 24+ loan to start college and the loan was accepted by the government. I have attended about 6 lessons so far, but last week I decided to withdraw from the course because of financial reasons. The course starts again in March and I want to attend. But I've not been given any advice on what to do about the loan I recently applied for. Do I apply for the loan again? Do I just leave it and start in March as normal?
I'm in the dark on this one. The tutor at the college has withdrawn me from the course, but she mentioned nothing about the loan.

Have you tried asking the people that gave you the loan? Or read the T&C's? http://www.slc.co.uk/media/588854/24plus_termsandconditions_1314_d.pdf
Section 3 says that you must advice the SLC if you leave your course or suspend your studies.

Have a read at this link to a government website explaining about 24+ loans.
https://www.gov.uk/advanced-learning-loans/further-information
Leave or change your course
You’ll have to pay back any money (plus interest) that’s been paid to your college or training provider if you leave or change your course after 2 weeks.
The interest rate will be the rate of inflation.
Speak to your college or training provider to see if they can transfer the loan to another course.0 -

Thanks. I'll speak to the college and see if I can transfer the loan. Do you know whether I will have to enroll first before they transfer the loan to another course starting in the future?0
