Turbo trainers

So I have bought a turbo trainer tonight, to try and get back to a level of fitness following 3 months off.

I've seen some things online but if anyone has any recommendations. I need to get my base miles back up, having lost most of my mussel mass in a 2 week hospital stay.

    Build up steadily.

Turbo training works against resistance, basically like cycling up a constant climb, so no free-wheeling.

I cycle quite a bit, regularly doing 50-100 mile rides. I only use the turbo occasionally as I find it quite boring. However it's hard work, within 10 mins i'm sweating loads, 30 mins and i'm broke!

I use my cycle computer while on turbo to maintain my cadence (number of pedal strokes per min) at 80-85.

So.. build up turbo session steadily, start with 15mins and increase gradually from there, but nothing beats being on the open roads!

    Rob.
