Notice of Discontinuance from Court

Can't believe my luck and just seekin confirmation that I'm reading this right. I got a document from court saying that a debt company was taking me to court to slap a ccj on me for £5000. I sent in the acknowledgement of service saying I intended to defend. Before I have even sent my defence in I have got a Notice of Discontinuance from the Court. Does this mean they have just given up? Do I no longer need to send my defence? That's what it looks like to me but it just seems too good to be true.

Well I guess nobody knew the answer. So I phoned up the court and asked them and they said yes, that was the end of the matter. They have dropped the case. Hallelujah. :j

    What an outcome.

Any idea why they did this?
