as I don't have an immersion heater would it be cost effective to reinstall an immersion heater tank.Or will a free standing /wall hung water heater that you see in cafes, canteens etc be viable?.Am wanting reduce gas usage particularly during the summer, the pv installation will be up in forthcoming weeks.

  • This is a question I keep asking myself, so I'm very interested in the answer...

My 4kw system was installed last month and I have a combi and was wondering how much effort/cost it would be to add an unvented cylinder to the system. I was planning to ask the plumber when he services the boiler next month.

I've got to have my boiler serviced very soon and will be asking exactly the same question, with 2 little kids that take a bath every day I've got to seriously consider it.

We were supposed to be having a highly recommended local firm round this eve to quote on new boiler, cylinder and rads/trv's with sexy heating controls, but he's stuck elsewhere and so we've agreed tomorrow.

I want a heat only boiler with a megaflo style cylinder - this needs to go in the loft so we can get rid the existing tank and shrink the airing cupboard, giving more space in the en-suite.

    I'll ask him then.

I've also asked a friend/former boss who runs a gas safe training company if he would like to impart some of his wisdom!
