Incorrect name on national insurance card

When my son received his national insurance card the wrong surname had been put on it and we were told there was nothing that could be done. Surely the name can be changed somehow as it's causing problems with ID etc.

National insurance cards are not even issued now so if you are hoping to get a new one with the correct name on it, that won't happen. Can't your son use another form of ID?

I thought it was paper only now.
I know that even when they did issue cards, you only ever got one.
I'm presuming that you mean the issue with ID being the name against ID and NI being different when going for interviews?0 -
If its a different surname then it's not hs card0

The school used my surname by mistake (he has my wifes maiden name) and when we told HMRC after he got the card they said it's to late. Now he's stuck with0

They don't issue cards to anyone anymore so yes, if he wants a card, he's stuck with that one. If the name annoys him, he can cut it up...
Make sure HMRC have the correct name on file and ask for written confirmation of the NI number. That letter can be used for anything an NI number card would be accepted for...
But they don't make NI cards anymore so in that regard they're right. If he wants a card, he's stuck with the one he has.Sealed Pot Challenge #239
