I don't know if it would be safe to use especially if it is cracked inside. Why not write to the manufacturer of the slow cooker and see if you can get a replacement inner because the current one must be faulty.

Don't use a cracked slow cooker. With heat applied directly to the surface of the inner, if there are any weak points it could go bang!

Is the pot cracked or is it just crazing of the glaze?
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

Mine isn't cracked, but it does quite often come out of the cupboard with a strange whitish bloom on the inside. It's not mould and it doesn't smell; it does wipe off, but I don't like it & I'm sure that none of my previous ones have done this. Also, stock that's been left in there to cool overnight will often ferment within a day or two, despite being put straight into the fridge in the morning. So for now I pour everything out to cool in covered metal bowls & clean the pot in steaming hot water, but I should probably replace the slow cooker altogether. Does anyone know what this is, and how I can stop it happening again, please?

It's not cracked as such it's smooth to touch but you can see cracks underneath the glazing if that makes sense !

Throwing my old pot slow cooker away and getting a Morphy Richards sear and stew was one of my better decisions. It has an aluminium pan, so it won't crack, can go in the dishwasher and the oven, and doesn't give off the weird slow cooker smell. I would think about investing if you're worried about yours and you can afford it . You can get them for about £25
