hello
my partner is wanting to go back to work asap
hes wanting to be a truck/lorry driver
is there any help because we really couldnt afford everything he needs to do to get a job like that
its something he is wanting to do
and if there is funding how long will it take if he does get funding how long is it from passing to getting a job
thanks and appreciate any advice

Can he not get another job, then save up for the training.
Take out a loan?
I remember some unscrupulous companies a while back trying to make money out of pretending to offer loans in return for HGV training, so if you do find something, make sure it is legitimate!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Many Bus companies offer free training but you must remain in their employ for at least 6 months after passing your test or the training fee is deducted from your final pay. It can be a very demanding occupation but at least you're earning above the minimum wage. Have done both HGV and PCV work I found that at least you were home every night when Bus Driving unlike many HGV jobs.0

Unless he joins the forces and gets hgv trained by them(my mate was lgv trained by the marines) you will have to save up sorry0

There is no specific funding from Colleges etc to pay for HGV Licences although, depending on circumstances, the Driving Goods Vehicles Apprenticeship does include the licence. Perhaps look around for DGV Apprenticeship vacancies in your area? Register with National Apprenticeship Service website to be able to search ( http://www.apprenticeships.org.uk/ )
Long shot but worth a try.0 -
Would a career development loan help for this? It's worth researching?0
