Thank you, Jackie. I ordered from Sonic Direct and the Bosch iron was delivered (free) the next day tracked by Parcel Force for £47. I used it for the first time yesterday and early impressions are really good, thank you. My cotton blouse ironed very well. (My first ever order from Sonic Direct - I read the reviews first - and I'm impressed.)

I'm going to economize now and stick with my ancient ironing board a bit longer but I've taken Cisco's advice and ordered the metallic type covers from Wilco - I've received an email to say they are on their way. Free delivery to a reasonably nearby store thirty-five minutes away - and a free bus pass to get me there - great!

Oh that's good. Glad to hear it, Crimson. Never heard of sonic direct but it's always good to get a recommendation about somewhere. I'll have a look.
