Aww thanks for subscribing brizzled..yes £319 on insurance - it was £567 last month (I know, ridiculous when I think of all of the money I've spent on this over the years when I could've been clearing down the debt)...I've been brave and cancelled more this month so next month it will be £233.76 - I'm not sure I could sleep at night if I cut it down any further at the moment-I will review it again in the New Year I promise!)

Igamogam - thanks to you too for subscribing...I have woken up very early this morning feeling a little panicky so it was reassuring to see some encouraging posts first thing..

    So today so far I've:

-prepared and popped in the oven a 2kg piece of brisket of beef from save with J**ie cookbook which should do at least 6 meals for the 4 of us
    -put HM bread in BM

    Left to do:
-find a payment for my PAD
-find somewhere that sells reasonably priced dishwasher salt-we're all out and I really wanted an NSD today..oh well there's always tomorrow!
-Catch up on some more diaries as I'm finding reading others journeys so inspirational and also really great for working out which strategies will work for me!

Hope you all have a lovely Sunday!

  • Thanks Puzz and NOA, headache all gone but I've had one of those mornings where you have to laugh cos otherwise you'd cry!

Supposed to be working from home but had a headache all day Friday and somehow managed to leave the office without my laptop meaning that I had to trudge all the way into town this morning in this horrendous weather! I missed every bus, walked most of the way, well you can guess how wet I was when I got there! And yes, still raining on the way home so had to pay £2.10 on a bus for the pleasure of getting drenched! I felt so sorry for myself I walked past the newsagents after getting off the bus and bought a huge chocolate bar - another £2 wasted! Never mind! Currently wrapped up in a blanket on the sofa trying to warm up whilst panicking about the 3 hours I've lost at work this morning!

On a brighter note...another PAD made by rounding down my current account - I'll have to find the PAD thread and work out how to join in that I think - only a teeny weeny 0.34p but it 0.34p less than I owed 10 mins ago!

I've also made a list for me an OH to tackle at the weekend - mostly involves clearing out wardrobes for ebay potential items - so I'm feeling more organised than I have done of late. Hopefully my friend will return some money I lent her in the next couple of days - will have to save that for Christmas though as I've nothing at all saved towards that yet.

I've also spoken to my immediate family and explained that I cant do Xmas pressies this year for adults. They also seemed relieved tbh - wish I'd asked last year now! Going to ask OH to speak to his side of family - think its best coming from him - they are a little more materialistic than my side of family ironically!

    Still left to do today:

-Close OH old T**o card which has zero balance after swapping to BC for 0%
-OH speak to inlaws re xmas
-revisit grocery budget/read through forums on here for cheaper meals - I'm sure we could get this down further
-reduce childcare vouchers - I've loads built up that are just not getting used.

    Over and out!
