Morning!
We're up bright and early in the hazel household today. Brand new extra curricular activity starting today for DD1 and DD2 and MUCH cheaper than the old one so fingers crossed they like it! :rotfl:
Plans to update our beautiful wall chart this morning with the fact we've dipped under £50k too - how exciting :rotfl:
I've a busy morning with orders from the s/e income stream (it's dwindling but struggling to let down the stay hard regulars, so figured it would just be easier to keep going with a couple until they dwindle away over time), but will be a nice £40 earned when they come to collect. It's going straight to the "date night" fund for hubby and I tonight - just a curry and pint at the local, nothing extravagant but much needed time alone together! Plus one more of the "MUST-DO'S" (MUST DO number 4!) ticked off the list on the first day of the month ain't bad! We've already ticked off MUST DO number 1 and cleared £2033 off the debt:T
Will start work on MUST DO number 5 today and tomorrow too - but its a big job so doubt we'll be finished. I'll tackle the wardrobes but will task hubster with the job of finishing hanging up trinkets on DD's walls that have recently been painted. Also need to book in 2 quality family dates to an NT site - if we don't book it in now it ain't happening!!!:rotfl: Also going to try our very best for an NSD on Sunday
Therefore to do list this weekend is thus;
- start to clear our wardrobes out and ebay/CS the garments that we no longer need/use
- hubby to finish hanging pictures/trinkets on DDs walls
- book in diary two family days out
- NSD on Sunday
Feeling organised and in control! Will pop back tomorrow and update on our progress!
Have a lovely weekend everyone!£1589.94 cc - DFD 31/12/22; £156,737.24 mortgage free target date 1/10/2026; £158,327.18 Total; Starting debt Jan 2019 £393,068; 60% cleared.0 -
Morning!
So yesterday wasn't a resounding success in terms of the mini goals I'd set, however we did have a very welcome distraction in the form of our three year old niece who we looked after all day as my sister had come down with the flu!
So we (happily) swapped clearing wardrobes and hanging wall furniture for making chocolate chip cookies, playing hospitals and visiting the local park!:rotfl:
We did however manage the following;
- date night which was fabulous and much needed. Good food, good wine and a DD free night (was delighted to wake up to a £25 lotto win on Sunday too meaning curry was effectively paid for-bonus!):money:
- DD2 updated our wall chart; looks great now it's below 50k
- we booked our two NT dates
- NSD#1 on Sunday:T
Today's aim is to get through work with no spends making it NSD 2/5 which would be rather lovely
Happy Monday folks!£1589.94 cc - DFD 31/12/22; £156,737.24 mortgage free target date 1/10/2026; £158,327.18 Total; Starting debt Jan 2019 £393,068; 60% cleared.0 -

Afternoon!
Just a quick update!
- didn't manage NSD yesterday as we ran out of butter and stamps but managed one today to make up for that!
- no expensive coffees bought at work
- brought lunch from home
- walked instead of getting bus to train station saving £2:30
Going to try and sort car insurance tonight and fingers crossed earn some cash back or at the very least find a saving on last years premium!
Wish us luck!£1589.94 cc - DFD 31/12/22; £156,737.24 mortgage free target date 1/10/2026; £158,327.18 Total; Starting debt Jan 2019 £393,068; 60% cleared.0 -

Hi luffa
Thanks for your message I'm glad you like my optimism, but it isn't always this way!
So sorry to hear you're so down at the mo, I've been there and it's horrendous. I can see that you're new here - if you haven't already, read the sticky on the debt forum page it has tons of useful guidance no matter what your situation. If there's anything you really need help with then post a diary or ask a question, you'll be amazed at how much response and help you get and you'll feel so much better when you realise you're not alone.
I still go through ups and downs and I know I'll have more to come but I've just got better at recognising what brings me down and keeps me up to manage it better! Posting on my diary is the difference for me, it keeps me focussed.
No matter how you feel there is help out there xx£1589.94 cc - DFD 31/12/22; £156,737.24 mortgage free target date 1/10/2026; £158,327.18 Total; Starting debt Jan 2019 £393,068; 60% cleared.0
