    Hi there

Apologies for jumping on your thread

Did you get any further with this?
I am currently considering a post based in ROI.

My head is absolutely fried with the ins and outs of this and I'm having difficulty bottoming it out.

Now seems a good time to negotiate a euro salary as realistically I can not see it getting much weaker, that said if we knew that we certainty we would all be very rich people.

What tax (and other deductions) needs to be paid / also very interested in national insurance contributions for state pension etc, what needs to be done to ensure that this is kept up to date? Also is there any impact to NHS entitlement etc?

    Thanks!

Sorry, didnt take it any further.

You pay your tax in the South but there is alot of rebates available - also married couples allowance and dependant on income child benefit.

You also have to complete a self assessment in the North to ensure your paying enough to keep your NI

It's fairly easy to be honest, your best visiting the local tax office say Dundalk or Monaghan. Also open a southern bank account and use an online transfer to move your money to sterling - it takes an extra 3 days to get into your sterling account but the exchange rate can be better

You're eligible for nhs care for the first year outside the uk only. Contact the pensions office to pay to keep up your eligibility to uk state pension. You can make a lump sum payment.

Thanks - only application stage, but it's an interesting proposition, but want to make sure that I am not wasting everyone's time!

I have researched the numbers further had made a calculation and will put forward a suggested expected Euro salary to see what the outcome is. Obviously this is aimed based upon the fact that the Euro could infact get worse.

Interesting point reference the Euro bank account, I was thinking about this earlier and as to how it would work. I'll dig deeper into that side of things should the application be successful.
