theviewers.co.uk - paid TV research

I just signed up to theviewers.co.uk after reading about them in my local paper and was wondering if anyone has any experience with them yet as they seem pretty new??
They just do research for TV companies and seems to be a mix of focus groups and online research but the article I read said they're planning to do focus groups across the UK including here in Darlington which is a revelation as none of the other sites I'm signed up with ever seem to have anything I could get to.
I applied a few hours ago but haven't had any confirmation back yet, apparently "a human" is reviewing my response. How long does this usually take? I hope I haven't scared them off with the type of TV I enjoy!:rotfl:

Hi
Was intrigued by your posting and as I'd never heard of this company I've just been over to their website and read most of what was on there. Thanks for the heads-up, I might apply myself:T
Saw this in the FAQs. Obviously doesn't say how long confirmation takes but suggests assignments may be a while coming through:(:
I received confirmation of my membership but haven't heard anything since
Please bear with us for a few months whilst we grow the database to a size large enough to conduct major research projects. Rest assured that if you've registered with us we will contact you as soon as we have something you may be suitable for.
Keep us posted how you get on please. Good Luck:beer:0 -
Yeah they guys are valid, seen this already mentioned on The Money Shed this week as someone was sharing their referral code to get more signups to them.0

Got my confirmation email
All seems pretty legit, however it does say:
Please note you will only be contacted when the answers given in your registration questionnaire are a close match to what a TV company is looking for. Some members hear about a project within days of joining whilst others may wait several months. Please be patient and view your membership as a way of hearing about interesting TV research opportunities rather than a guarantee of work.
So guess I won't hold my breath but all sounds pretty interesting, fingers crossed!!0 -
Just as an update I received an invite to the below TV research in Newcastle but will probably cost me half of the incentive to get there from Darlo on bus and train so doubt I'll bother!
The email mentioned there is also research taking place in Hammersmith and coming up in some other places (Nottingham, Edinburgh, Cheshire, Exeter and others) so hopefully of use to someone else!
Project: Lighthearted group discussion of 8 people (mix of men and women all 25-35ish) led by a trained interviewer and assistant working on behalf of a popular TV channel.
